This page is a general hub for Uzbekistan entry and visa information. It explains the main options: visa-free entry, electronic visa (e-visa), transit visa and visa support through a tour operator.

CAJ.UZ does not issue visas, does not make visa decisions and does not provide a “visa-only” service. We may provide visa support only as part of CAJ.UZ travel services when it is required for the traveller’s citizenship, itinerary, travel dates and confirmed package.

Send citizenship, passport type, travel dates and route. We will check the suitable entry option before you pay for any travel service.

15-second answer: whether you need a visa for Uzbekistan depends on your citizenship, passport type, purpose of visit, entry/exit dates and route. Some travellers can enter visa-free, some can use an e-visa, and some require visa support. CAJ.UZ does not sell visa-only services and does not guarantee visa approval: the final decision is made by a consulate, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or another competent authority.

Visa-free entry to Uzbekistan

Citizens of selected countries may enter Uzbekistan without a visa. The allowed stay depends on citizenship, passport type, purpose of visit and the rules in force on the date of entry.

CAJ.UZ does not maintain an official government register of visa-free countries. This page gives a practical summary and key updates. Before travel, check the current rules through official sources or send us your passport details for review.

Important

Do not rely on old country lists from forums, old articles or previous correspondence. Visa rules can change, and some changes are introduced by separate decrees or international agreements.

Where a newer decree or international agreement exists, use the newer official document for that specific case. Some older country-list pages may not reflect later updates immediately.

If you are not sure, send us your citizenship, passport type, travel dates and route — we will check which entry option fits your case.

What should you choose: visa-free entry, e-visa, transit or visa support?

Start with visa-free entry or e-visa if:

  • your citizenship is eligible for visa-free entry or an electronic visa;
  • you are travelling to Uzbekistan for tourism or another permitted purpose;
  • you do not need an invitation from the host side;
  • you want to apply online through the official e-visa portal;
  • you have a valid passport, clear travel dates and a clear route.

Start with visa support if:

  • your citizenship requires an invitation;
  • the consulate asks for visa support or an LOI;
  • your trip is linked to a confirmed travel package;
  • your accommodation, route and stay dates must be confirmed;
  • you want a written eligibility check before payment.

Electronic visa for Uzbekistan

The Uzbekistan e-visa does not fit every traveller. First check your citizenship, passport type, purpose of visit and planned stay dates.

CAJ.UZ is not the official e-visa portal and does not make e-visa decisions. For detailed e-visa instructions, use the dedicated e-visa page.

Important

Do not buy a tour, flights or non-refundable services until you understand your visa status. If you are unsure, send your citizenship, travel dates and purpose of visit first.

Transit through Uzbekistan

Transit conditions depend on citizenship, route, air tickets, destination country and time spent in Uzbekistan. Transit should not be mixed with a regular tourist visa: it is a separate scenario.

If you are flying through Tashkent or another point in Uzbekistan to a third country, check transit conditions in advance.

Visa support for Uzbekistan

Visa support is not the visa itself. It is an invitation or confirmation from the host side that may be required for submitting a visa application.

Visa support may also be called an invitation, Letter of Invitation (LOI) or confirmation with a telex number. Detailed conditions, packages and payment rules are kept on the dedicated visa support page.

What CAJ.UZ does

  • Checks whether visa support is required for a specific citizenship, route and travel dates.
  • Accepts applications only as part of CAJ.UZ travel services.
  • Prepares host-side documents if the application meets the conditions.
  • Confirms the conditions in writing before payment when support is possible.

What CAJ.UZ does not do

  • We do not issue visas or make visa decisions.
  • We do not provide a “visa-only” service without a travel package.
  • We do not sell invitation letters separately from travel services.
  • We do not guarantee visa approval after documents are submitted.

CAJ.UZ visa support policy

CAJ.UZ provides visa support only when the application is connected with a genuine travel arrangement, confirmed accommodation, a clear itinerary and a clear period of stay in Uzbekistan.

For certain citizenships where an extended check of route, accommodation and stay dates is required, visa support is considered only as part of a confirmed travel package with accommodation.

This rule applies, among others, to applicants holding Afghan passports and to citizens of selected African countries, where CAJ.UZ must confirm the travel programme, accommodation and departure dates in advance.

A standalone “visa-only” or “invitation-only” service is not provided. Packages, prices, included services and payment rules are listed on the visa support page.

Details needed for an initial check

For the first check, do not send unnecessary documents. Basic travel information is enough. The exact document list depends on citizenship, visa type and selected entry option.

Usually needed for the check:

  • citizenship;
  • passport type;
  • country of residence;
  • purpose of visit;
  • planned entry date;
  • planned exit date;
  • route or transit plan;
  • number of travellers.

After the check, you may be asked for:

  • passport copy;
  • application details;
  • itinerary confirmation;
  • accommodation confirmation;
  • air tickets or booking if required for the selected scenario;
  • additional documents requested by a consulate, the MFA or another competent authority.

Official sources

Visa rules can change. Before travelling, check the current requirements through official sources and do not rely only on old country lists from articles, forums or correspondence.

Where a newer decree or international agreement exists, use the newer official document for that specific case. Some older country-list pages may not reflect later updates immediately.
