1 day · Samarkand → Jartepa / Sarazm → Panjakent → archaeological site of Sarazm → Samarkand · private tour · from 150 USD per person
This one-day trip links Samarkand with the historic sites of western Tajikistan. The programme includes ancient Panjakent, the Rudaki Museum, the city bazaar and the archaeological site of Sarazm, a UNESCO World Heritage property.
Two countries in one day: from ancient Sogdiana and Panjakent’s working bazaar to UNESCO-listed Sarazm. The tour is private: an Uzbek driver takes you to the Jartepa border crossing; after you cross independently, a local guide and driver meet you outside the Sarazm checkpoint. The day ends at your agreed address in Samarkand.
You can request any preferred date online. The trip operates only after advance written confirmation: CAJ.UZ checks your documents, border operation, vehicles, local guide and site opening schedules, then sends the meeting time and team contacts. Lunch is not included.
At a glance: planned meeting in Samarkand at 06:50, departure at 07:00 and return in the evening. The price includes transport in both countries, a local guide, programme entrance tickets, drinking water and route coordination. Rates start from 150 USD per person; lunch is paid separately.
The route reveals more than ancient monuments: Sogdian archaeology is combined with a museum collection and the everyday life of modern Panjakent. All four highlights below are included in the itinerary and price, subject to confirmed site opening hours.
